Senior Research Associate
I am currently working as a Senior Research Associate at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) under the Crops for Nutrition and Health Research Theme. I’ve been working as a researcher in agriculture, food systems, environment and natural resources management, crops for nutrition and health and climate services research themes for the last 10 years. Currently, I am working on four projects with research sites in 15 African countries, focusing on sustainable food production, women empowerment through skills building, entrepreneurship and access to resources such as land and improved seeds, access to nutritious food, soil health and protection, climate information services and climate advisories, access to improved climate resilient seeds and climate resilience. In addition, I contribute to projects development and coordinate partnerships. Before coming to CIAT, I worked with the World Agroforestry Center (ICRAF) on tree diversity in two different agro ecological - climate diverse zones the Bugesera and Gishwati and on Indigenous Fruit trees to evaluate their nutrition, health benefits and role in reducing poverty. In the past, I worked as an administrative assistant, field assistant and a data clerk. I am an African Food Systems Leader, a dedicated researcher, trainer, mother, and singer.
