Shley Suarez-Burgos
Shley Suarez Burgos was encrusted in the salt waters of Biscayne Bay. She discovered her passion for conservation-focused digital storytelling after leaving home to pursue a lifelong goal of professional salmon fishing. Combining her background of filmmaking, hunting, and yoga instruction, she discovered outlets for creative eco-storytelling by creating authentic conversations and events for diverse communities. She is currently a board member for the North American Marine Alliance, Catalyst's Medical Debt Advisory Board and a Level 1 Oyster Master Guild. As a Latino Outdoors Program Coordinator, Shley creates engaging and safe events that take Miami families out into musical swamp walks, oyster puppet creations, community marine science projects, and film screenings. Catch her dancing like the inflatable tube men or playing mermaids in the sea during her free time.
