Scovia Kiconco

Nsamizi Training Institute of Social Development - Uganda

My name is Scovia Kiconco, I am currently working with Nsamizi TISD -Refugee Project as the Project Grants Officer. We are a community led project that extends protection and emergency services to refugees in Uganda through three sectors; Environment, WASH and Social Development (Livelihoods). Our main activities are environmental restoration and natural resource conservation, water supply and maintenance, hygiene promotion, enabling access to sustainable energy and strengthening business/employment opportunities amongst refugees. All our interventions are geared towards enabling refugees live a dignified life in their host country.
I am an adventurous spirit, nature lover, environmental enthusiast, women advocate and aspiring farmer. I am also passionate about learning and knowledge sharing, you'll find me reading just about anything, including an old newspaper!

I joined the WLC because:

  • I want to develop my leadership and management skills

  • I want to connect with like-minded people

  • I want to learn from already established women leaders and influencers

  • I have a desire to learn and share as well as grow my passion and develop personally

By joining WLC, I hope to gain leadership skills that will equip me to be a leader with a change, have access to mentors and coaches to support my career growth and passion discovery, and gain technical skills in restoration that I will share with the organization to increase the success of our project's restoration efforts.
