Sara Saucedo

Sara currently works as a Sales Development Representative with Topanga.io, as an environmental leader, she has a deep commitment to sustainability. She has the privilege of being a part of a team driving positive change for sustainability and preserving natural resources. Sara actively assists institutions in adopting solutions that promote these causes. Working to decrease reliance on disposable items and reduce the amount of waste in the environment. Leading the shared vision of many to a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.

During her time at Arkansas State University, she pioneered a transformative environmental movement. Founding the university's first-ever Environmental Club, providing a platform for students passionate about sustainability to come together and drive change. Additionally, she established the Campus Sustainability Goals within the Student Government Association (SGA) and introduced the very first Sustainability position within the SGA, marking a significant milestone in the institution's commitment to sustainability. 

Sara led climate protests in the Northeast Arkansas (NEA) region, rallying hundreds of students and community members to support the cause. She authored numerous proposals to the administration, urging them to implement sustainable initiatives on campus, and successfully incorporated sustainability efforts into the university's long-term vision by participating in the University Strategic Planning Committee. Sara brought the environmental movement to the forefront of the Arkansas State University campus, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.

Sara's professional journey showcases her commitment to environmental stewardship. She has held pivotal roles in driving sustainability initiatives as Sodexo's Sustainability Coordinator at Arkansas State University, where she identified opportunities to integrate new sustainability programs and set short-term and long-term sustainability goals. Her work has extended to roles as an Environmental Fellow at Yale School for the Environment and a Regional Fellow for Citizens' Climate Lobby, where she contributed significantly to environmental education funding and advocacy efforts. 

Sara’s environmental goals and aspirations strive for a future where educational institutions across the country embrace and incorporate sustainable practices in their daily operations. Sara’s goal is to spearhead the movement that transforms how universities approach sustainability, making it easily accessible for all. Although not an easy endeavor, Sara sees the importance of small changes and their profound impact on our environment from the ripple effect they create.

Sara has received a B.S. in Nutritional Science Dietetics and M.S. in Environmental Science with an emphasis in public policy and economics from Arkansas State University. Originally from California, Sara currently resides in Arkansas with her husband and their dog and cat.
