Maureen Nyonji
Founder and Director
I am Maureen Njoki, born and raised in the rural landscapes of Kiambu County, Kenya. Growing up on my family's farm, I witnessed firsthand the challenges of agriculture, including inadequate rainfall and poor soil health. This early exposure ignited my passion for sustainable farming. In 2019, I pursued a Bachelor's degree in Commerce at Kisii University, where I developed crucial business and management skills. During my studies, I volunteered with the Africa Food Forest Foundation, where I trained farmers in sustainable practices and educated children about environmental conservation. Upon graduating in 2023, at the age of 22,I co-founded,Agritech Empowerment Network Kenya, an NGO dedicated to promoting sustainable agriculture and combating climate change. As the director, I focus on empowering women and youth, equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in modern agriculture. My vision is to create a future where farming communities thrive in harmony with the environment. By leading innovative initiatives and fostering collaboration, I am committed to making a lasting impact in the agricultural sector, empowering farmers, and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
