Debra Woolley
Deb is an Independent Consultant working with statewide nonprofit organizations in Pennsylvania, Texas and Massachusetts raising awareness of environmental issues that plague our land, air and waterways and attaining corporate contributions, foundation and government grants that fund programmatic solutions and sustainable outcomes.
With a career spanning both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, Deb held executive leadership positions guiding professionals and organizations in marketing, communications, development, and strategic planning. Her passion for youth education, diversity, inclusion, and international studies are evident in the 8 years spent with AFS-USA sending US high school students abroad on summer, semester, and year programs. She successfully launched 2 new US Department of State grant programs, YES Abroad and NSLI-Y, and maintained the CBYX grant program and AFS-USA Diversity program, Faces of America.
Intent on having her own exchange, Deb took a director position at Outward Bound Costa Rica located in San Ramon de Tres Rios, Cartago Province. Living in the cloud forest of Costa Rica, serving with teens from around the world practicing “leave no trace” on weeks long hikes through the rain forest, participating in Olive Ridley Sea Turtle conservation programs, working with local cacao, coffee, banana, and sugar cane farmers on sustainable practices fueled her desire to return to the US and look for ways to continue to have an impact on the environment. Upon returning to the US, Deb was the Sr. Director of Development for Keep America Beautiful, responsible for raising corporate funding for its programs. She is currently under contract to Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep Massachusetts Beautiful responsible for corporate development.
