Dafrozah Samagwa is the Program Director at Floresta Tanzania, where she has risen through the ranks after five years of heading various departments and serving as a field officer for one year. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Management and a Master of Science in Management of Natural Resources for Sustainable Agriculture. Beginning her career as a field officer she quickly advanced to assume diverse leadership roles within the organization. Her extensive experience includes supervising teams that annually train farmers in sustainable agriculture technologies leading to establishment of 531 farmers' field schools that enable participants to conduct trials on sustainable agriculture practices; spearheading environmental conservation efforts, overseeing the establishment of 652 participant-owned tree nurseries. This initiative has resulted in the planting of 1.5 million trees annually. She has been instrumental in organization's transition from offline to online data management systems, leveraging tools like Google Sheets. Additionally, played a key role in introducing digital data collection tools, facilitating the organization's move towards paperless operations. Her proactive approach extended to project management and M&E where she led initiatives to develop M&E tools for various projects. She has also enhanced the organization's visibility through management of social media platforms.
