Annociata Kijana Ruhebuza

Mrs. Annociata Kijana Ruhebuza was born in 1967 in Mulungu and is a resident of the Democratic Republic of Congo, province of South Kivu, in Bukavu.  I am a widow, mother of two children: a boy and a girl. I did my secondary studies in Mulungu, Biology-chemistry option, my university studies graduated in Biology-Chemistry, then a Degree in Biology at the Higher Pedagogical Institute (ISP) Bukavu and completed my Masters in Crops Sciences and Crop Protection at Makerere University in Uganda. 
I have worked at the National Institute for Agronomic Study and Research, since 1994, as a researcher. I held the functions of Head of the Phytopathology Section of Legumes and Field Manager of the Legumes program in Mulungu. From 2008-2011, I coordinated research activities on beans, on behalf of CIAT ECABREN/PABRA. From 2011-2013, I trained in Agronomy (Crops Sciences) and crop protection at Makerere University in Uganda, where I graduated with a Masters in 2015. From 2016-2023, I was appointed first female Director of a Research Center at the National Institute for Agronomic Study and Research in the DRC, since its existence. Assigned to the INERA Mulungu Research Center, Bukavu. In 2024, I became Head of the Horticulture program.
