Senior Vice President —100 Women Pathway Project

Janet leads Planet Women’s 100 Women Pathway Project, focused on identifying and advancing senior level female and minority talent into important environmental leadership positions and creating an innovative, compassionate, anti-racist, and more equitable work culture. Planet Women believes with this new paradigm of leadership, results for people and the planet will dramatically improve.

Previously, Janet worked at Rare, a nonprofit that helps communities adopt more sustainable behaviors and practices to protect and conserve natural resources. At Rare, Janet led international benefits and compensation strategy and delivery, as well as the diversity, equity and inclusion initiative. Prior to Rare, Janet spent more than 20 years building and leading HR teams in both federal and commercial high-tech companies. Throughout her career, Janet has managed teams to deliver consultative HR services, with deep subject matter expertise in employee relations, change and project management, acquisition integration, leadership and development, total rewards management and systems transformation.

Janet earned a BA in psychology from James Madison University and an MA in HR management from Marymount University. She is certified as a senior professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a senior certified professional (SCP). Over the last fifteen years, Janet has served in multiple roles on the board of directors for the Northern Virginia chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
