Emily Amador

Emily is a first-year student studying Law, History, and Culture at the University of Southern California. She proudly comes from the vibrant community of South Central Los Angeles. Her experience as the daughter of immigrants in an impoverished community riddled with gun violence has motivated her unwavering commitment to public policy.

Within her first year at USC, Emily has swiftly earned various leadership positions, leveraging her skills and background to contribute to meaningful change. She currently serves as the Co-Director of Student Success and Equity for the First Generation Student Assembly, General Intern for Latino Students in Law, Co-Programming coordinator for IDEAS, and is in the Latino Students in Business Future Leaders program where she is developing her own non-profit organization.

Emily's ambitions extend beyond academia. She uses film, public speaking, and creative writing to bring light to the inequalities faced by marginalized communities. She harbors aspirations of embarking on a legal career and eventually stepping into the role of a congresswoman, advocating tirelessly for civil rights irrespective of race, socioeconomic status, or citizenship. Dreaming even bigger, Emily sets her sights on the presidency, driven by a fervent commitment to inclusivity and justice. She envisions leveraging her undergraduate education and diverse experiences to spearhead effective and lasting change, both within the communities she represents and on a broader scale.
